Margaret Taabazuing

Dr. MaryMargaret Taabazuing is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics at
Western University. She earned her medical degree from The Higher Institute of Medical Sciences
Calixto Garcia, Havana, Cuba, and completed her residency and Geriatric Medicine training at William
Beaumont Hospital, Michigan. In 2018, she obtained a master's degree in health evaluation from the
University of Waterloo.

As the physician Lead for Acute Care of the Elderly Clinical teaching unit, Dr. Taabazuing’s academic
and clinical work is deeply rooted in advancing the quality of care for older adults. Her research
interests focus on patient care quality initiatives, with a particular emphasis on improving outcomes
and experiences for geriatric populations. She serves as the Quality Improvement (QI) Lead for the
Division of Geriatrics, where she has played an important role in fostering a culture of continuous
improvement.

In her educational role, Dr. Taabazuing has mentored numerous geriatric medicine trainees, guiding
them through their QI research projects that contribute to both academic scholarship and fostering
interest in QI research.
