Frank Beier, PhD, Dr. Jeffrey Dixon and Cheryle Séguin, PhD, were honoured by the International Combined Orthopaedic Research Societies (ICORS) at the group’s annual meeting.

Saumik Biswas, PhD Candidate with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, conducted an independent research project at the University of Hong Kong this summer as a recipient of the Mitacs Globalink Research Award.

Drs. Jason Chui, Mel Boulton, Rosemary Craen, Ian Herrick and Sachin Pandey co-authored a study recognized with a Best of Meeting Award at the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Annual Meeting.

Dr. Matthew Hebb received one of 74 operating grants from the Cancer Research Society for his project entitled, “Defining the potential of low-intensity intratumoral modulation therapy-based platforms to treat high fatality brain cancers.”

Dr. Linda Lee was named a 2019 Joule Innovation grant recipient for her work on the Multi-specialty INterprofessional Team-based (MINT) Memory Clinics initiative.

Dr. Danielle MacNeil was named a 2019 Cochrane Scholar by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Bojana Radan, Medicine Class of 2021, was named as a recipient of the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame Award for Medical Students.

Dr. David Spence was appointed to the Order of Canada, recognizing his pioneering work in atherosclerosis and stroke prevention. 

Dr. Jennifer Vergel de Dios received the John Bradley Young Educator Award at the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society Annual Meeting.
