Can We Prevent Some Dementias Now? Scientific Symposium

The Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences, in conjunction with Western Research and Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, hosted Can We Prevent Some Dementias Now? on October 17, 2019.

This full-day Symposium featured a series of presentations by national and international speakers focused on current research, new approaches to clinical care as well as tools and strategies related to the prevention of some dementias. Each speaker was selected based on their contribution to the current knowledge of dementia research and represented researchers, physicians, non-profit foundations and members of our community.

Following the formal presentations, a public forum took place that discussed lifestyle changes that assist with reducing your risk of developing Dementia.

The goal of this event was to not only spark collaboration and engage the public on dementia research but create a starting point for future research and initiatives.

The event was a success with approximately 100 attendees. Attendees were encouraged to build their knowledge and ask questions during the panel discussion after each session.
