STAR Version 5.10

STAR 5.10 was released on January 23, 2014 and includes a few changes.

  1. For both the Professional CV and the Promotion CV have had the Grants/Clinical Trials section changed to print in a more logical table format.  No fields have changed so there is no impact to end users for this change, however each record will print in a reorganized table format, allowing for longer text that is not limited by a narrow column.
  2. The PubMed import button was pulling in the long form of the Journal Name.  This has been corrected.
Example: Old journal name "JOGC: Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada"
New journal name: "J Obstet Gynaecol Can".
This properly aligns with NLM formatting and how journal names should be captured.
  3. Include printing the DOI field in publications section of CV reports.
  4. Various other bug fixes with CV printing.

A new version of STAR was released to production with some new functionality.

There is a new "Search" feature now available in STAR, locate in the menu pane just above the Home Page Link.  You can enter search terms in this box, and the STAR program will search all records which you have access to and return the results in the content pane, grouped by the page they were found on.  If you have any feedback on this new feature, please let your STAR Coordinator know.

The Search feature will not search records which you do not already have access to. (i.e. other faculty members data)

The Personal Data Summary page now has a filed called Former Surname which by itself will not print on any of the customized STAR reports, but any instances found within the publications, presentations or grants section of the CV where that name is being used together with the faculty members firstname, or firstname and middlename will also be bolded.

If you require further information or have any problems please contact your STAR Coordinator.
