Value Stream Analysis Event – Division of Pathology
A group from the Division of Pathology recently participated in a five-day Value Stream Analysis (VSA) event, facilitated by Roche Healthcare Consulting. This intensive workshop focused on enhancing efficiency and reducing turnaround times in pathology.
Bringing together expertise from across the division, the team conducted a thorough review of current processes, identified root causes of inefficiencies, and explored innovative solutions. By mapping workflows and pinpointing bottlenecks, participants reimagined how pathology services could be delivered more effectively.
While the event was challenging, the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants were clear and commendable. The workshop resulted in a set of actionable recommendations aimed at optimizing laboratory operations and boosting overall efficiency.
The team has outlined a compelling future state in which pathology functions at peak performance. These proposed solutions are now under review for implementation and, with continued collaboration, promise to deliver meaningful improvements across the division.
