A cross section of PaLM leaders were given the opportunity to participate in the Canadian Diagnostic Executive Forum in Toronto on October 24 and 25.  Participants and speakers hailed from all across Canada and the United States to learn about innovations and technologies within the laboratory.

Highlights included next generation Point of Care Testing using lensless microscopy technology, drones to deliver defibrillators and medication, cancer genomics and hardware/software for blood sample transport monitoring.

While the innovation in technology was inspiring,  the chance to hear about the challenges and solutions implemented by labs across Canada and the US is testament to the perseverance, creativity and commitment of laboratory professionals to ensure quality and safe care for patients.

PaLM Leaders who attended the conference were Rich Bak, Manager - Laboratory Medicine; Jade Bolsover, Coordinator - SRA; Heather de Jong, Coordinator - Surgical Pathology; Rick Ermacora, Coordinator - VH Core Lab; Gavin Giles, Coordinator - Pathology SRA, Gross Room, Cytology, Autopsy and Manuella Giuliano, Quality Manager.
