Goodbye Meerah Vijeyakumaran
Dr. Lisa Cameron and Meerah Vijeyakumaran
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine would like to wish Meerah Vijeyakumaran a fond farewell and best wishes for her future endeavors. Meerah joined Dr. Cameron’s laboratory and the Department in September 2016 and graduated with a M.Sc in August, 2018. Her research revealed that estrogen influences the anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticosteroids, indicating that women may need more medication to control their asthma symptoms. Meerah continued to work with Dr. Cameron over the last year while she completed a Diploma in Clinical Trials Management. Currently, Meerah is doing an Internship at the Princess Margaret Hospital. As a strong team player and a hard worker, Meerah will be missed by all!
