Dr. Lum graduated from The University of Ottawa in 1983 and completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 1988. She became Head of Abdominal Imaging for radiology residency training in Ottawa and later received “Teacher of the Year” award for Excellence in Teaching in 1999.  

Dr. Lum has been actively engaged in leadership roles within both the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care since coming to the University of Western Ontario in 2000. As Program Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Program (2001-2003) she was involved with Postgraduate Medical Education and continued as Director of Abdominal Imaging for Radiology Resident Training from 2005 until the present. Most recently Dr. Lum participated as Medical Leader for Abdominal Imaging CT, US & MRI. In 2008 she was awarded the Resident’s Choice Award for her Outstanding Commitment to Radiology Education, Department of Medical Imaging at Western University.

She was the Chair, Department of Medical Imaging from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2017 and City-Wide Chief, Departments of Diagnostic Radiology at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2017.  She is currently involved with or sits on over 40 committees.
