UWOMJ Digitization Project Completed!

UWOMJ Digitization Project now completed! Did you know that famed neurosurgeon Dr Wilder Penfield was Honorary President of the Osler Society at Western? You can now read his 1941 presidential address published in the UWOMJ, Vol 11, No 3, March 1941 due to the digitization and now capability to keyword search the UWOMJ.

The University of Western Medical Journal (UWOMJ) was established in 1930 to provide a forum for original articles based on research or clinical medicine of topic or historical interest. All issues have now been digitized, beginning with V.1 1930/31 to the present, providing open access to the content. All issues are keyword searchable and each volume is indexed in Google and Google Scholar for maximum reach. Now saved for posterity in digital format, past UWOMJ issues will now serve as a valuable resource for students and librarians in answering any number of questions reflecting faculty and student medical research interests at Western since the 1930s.

Initiated in 2013 by Jason Chan, Meds 2017 and Hannah Chair Shelley McKellar, who approached Joanne Paterson, Coordinator of Scholarship@Western and Metadata Management Librarian, this project represents a successful collaboration between the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Western Libraries. We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Dean's Office at Schulich Medicine for this project.
