David Reid, MN, BScN
David Reid is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing at Western University and Co‑Director of the Master of Health Sciences, Global Health Systems program. With a Master of Nursing from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western, David brings deep expertise in professional practice, acute and episodic care, and barriers to health. His clinical and research interests span global health, teaching innovation, and simulation‑based education, where he continually seeks to bridge evidence and practice. David teaches core seminars on systems thinking and professional practice and mentors students through their field‑based clinical placements.
Egide Kalisa, PHD
Egide Kalisa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University of Ontario. Before that, Dr Kalisa was a Research Scientist in the Atmospheric Science and Technology Directorate, Air Quality Division, Environment Canada and Climate Change and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Toronto. He obtained a Ph.D. in Health and Environmental Science from the Auckland University of Technology and an MSc in Air Pollution Management and Control from the University of Birmingham. Dr. Kalisa conducted research in Environment and Health in different countries, including Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda and the United Kingdom.

Abbas Jessani, DDS, MSc, PhD
Dr. Abbas Jessani is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Divisions of Dental Public Health and Restorative Dentistry and in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, with interdisciplinary expertise in access to dental care and public health. He is also an Academic Lead for the Community Service-Learning program at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University. Dr. Jessani’s academic journey began with an undergraduate dental degree from the University of Karachi, followed by graduate training programs at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of British Columbia (UBC), where he earned both his MSc and PhD with a focus on Public Health Dentistry. His research and advocacy work in British Columbia (BC) have addressed critical gaps in oral healthcare access among vulnerable and marginalized populations, including individuals living with HIV and at-risk pregnant women. Dr. Jessani’s expertise involves investigating the pervasive stigma and discrimination that minorities, such as people living with HIV, face when accessing healthcare services in Canada and globally.
