Short Bio

Dr. Jacob McGee served as Division Head of Gynaecologic Oncology at the University of Western Ontario since 2021 after joining the department in 2011. He completed his fellowship training at the University of Toronto after residency training in obstetrics & gynecology at the University of Ottawa. He has a master’s in public health from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.

Dr. McGee is an accomplished clinician–scientist whose research aligns closely with his clinical expertise. Since 2018, he has authored 35 peer reviewed publications and presented widely at regional, national, and international meetings. He is also a dedicated educator, receiving a departmental teaching award in 2024 and supervising numerous award winning student projects.

He has held several key leadership roles, including Division Head of Gynecologic Oncology, Medical Advisor for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, and Co Chair of the Gynecology Quality Committee at London Health Sciences Centre. Provincially, he has contributed to Cancer Care Ontario through multiple advisory and working groups, and he currently serves as President Elect of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada (GOC).
