A Bittersweet Beginning to the Academic Year at EpiBio
As September and October come to a close, we look back on a memorable and bittersweet start to the academic year for the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
In early September, we welcomed 26 new MSc and PhD students during our annual orientation day, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their academic journeys.
Soon after, we celebrated another important milestone for our department as we welcomed Dr. Kelly Anderson into her new role as Department Chair. We were delighted to recognize this occasion and celebrate her appointment with members of our department community.
At the same time, we took the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Saverio Stranges for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and contributions over the past 10 years as Department Chair. His commitment has helped shape our department, and we are deeply thankful for the lasting impact of his work.
As we welcome this new chapter under Dr. Anderson’s leadership, we celebrate our department’s continued growth while recognizing and appreciating the people who have helped bring us here..
