    With physician expectations changing, the needs, interests and learning styles of medical students changing, and societies expectations for a greater inclusion of cultural safety in the delivery of health care increasing – medical education must change. Schulich Medicine is embarking on a curriculum renewal for the MD Program to meet the changing needs of society. This transition will begin to be implemented in September 2019 and will continue through phases in the coming years.

    For the past six years, Tachycardia has been partnering with the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection (RHAC) while raising more than $120,000 in total for the agency. It's a partnership valued by the students and welcomed by the RHAC.

    Dr. Padma Naidu has been introduced as the new president of the Essex County Medical Society.

    The Regional Family Physician of the Year Award recognizes seven physicians - one from each region of the province - who provide exemplary care to their patients and are passionately involved in activities that contribute to excellence in family medicine.

    Dr. James Calvin has been re-appointed as Chair/Chief, Department of Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University and its teaching hospitals, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care London, effective November 1, 2018 to October 31, 2023.

    Dr. Chandlee Dickey has been appointed as the Chair/Chief, Department of Psychiatry at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University and its teaching hospitals, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London, effective October 15, 2018 to October 14, 2023.

    Dr. Mithu Sen has been appointed as Acting Vice Dean, Faculty Affairs, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective October 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. This will be in addition to her current role as Assistant Dean, Faculty Equity and Wellness.
