An eventful semester

It has been an eventful start to 2018 for all medical school classes.

Since the beginning of the year, the Medicine Class of 2021 was buzzing with creativity as they planned and supported the admissions weekend in London. Along with students from other classes, they are actively participating in the annual CFMS wellness challenge, remembering to prioritize mental and physical wellness amidst their academic responsibilities.

There is excitement and anticipation among the Medicine Class of 2020 as they pick their clerkship rotations for the upcoming year. Students are enthusiastic to get on the wards and use the knowledge that they have gained during their pre-clinical years and put it into practice. Many 2020 students are also giving back to the Windsor community that has supported them these past years. During Valentine’s Day, many students created cards and/or donated to the class charity fund in order to support the women’s shelter and paediatric wards at the hospital.

Lastly, it is always a pleasure to have students from the Classes of 2018 and 2019 returning to campus to offer mentorship and advice to students in pre-clerkship. Several events took place in February and March that bolstered the relationship among students from all classes, and served as an excuse to relax and unwind during this busy year. The annual Shulichpalooza also took place in London, and brought together students from both London and the Windsor Campus for a night of music and dance. As the Class of 2018 nears convocation, we wish them the best and look forward to running into them on the wards in the near future.

Lastly, as this year marks the tenth anniversary of the Schulich Medicine – Windsor Campus, students faculty, and staff had a wonderful time at the Awards of Excellence Dinner celebrating the award recipients and the achievements from the past 10 years.
