An eventful spring

The new year began with exciting news for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. In September of 2015, the Windsor Program will become the first satellite campus site to host a Canadian Federation of Medical Students Annual General Meeting (CFMS AGM). By winning the bid, Schulich Medicine and the City of Windsor will host medical student leaders from across the nation. We are delighted at the prospect of this event.

Windsor Career Night 2015, held in early March, was a tremendous success. Students enjoyed the presence of numerous physicians and residents in discussions regarding career possibilities and selection. We remain immensely thankful for the time these individuals dedicated for the betterment of our medical education.

As spring rolls around and the weather warms up, the annual Goblet of Windsor will soon commence. The Classes of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 will compete against one another in various sports for the honour of winning a decorated trophy, as well as unrestricted bragging rights.

The coming months will also feature several events for our students. The annual musical Tachycardia will be held on April 10-11, where students will display their artistic talents with proceeds directed to charity. The Celebration of Excellence Dinner will honour faculty, staff and students for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions.

Congratulations to the Class of 2015 on their CaRMs match this year. We are all extremely happy for you and look forward to your bright futures. You have been incredibly supportive of the students before you and we hope to continue to pass on that torch to the students that come after us. We wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours.

Sincerely,

Yousif Atwan
