COVID-19: The latest research, innovations and community outreach
Schulich Medicine & Dentistry continues to lead on a global scale during the pandemic. Faculty and learners at the School are exploring new ways to test and treat the virus, gaining a better understanding of symptoms, designing and supplying PPE for frontline workers, supporting seniors and providing care to people in the community.
Achievements Report
While change has been our constant for the first half of 2020, faculty, staff and learners continue to advance the School’s vision. The 2020 Achievements Report features several success stories from the past year, including national research projects, community and industry partnerships, social responsibility and integrating wellness into residency training.
Celebrating the Class of 2020
No one expected that the academic year would be interrupted by a global pandemic and our lives would change so much in such a short time. Students rose to the challenge, surpassing each obstacle the pandemic presented. We celebrate all of their achievements and are pleased to profile a member of each class.
Dr. Douglas Bocking
The Western community is mourning the death of medical education pioneer Dr. Douglas Bocking, MD’43, a former Dean of Medicine, who died May 9 at the age of 99. He was a gentlemen and scholar who will be dearly missed.
First to 50
They boldly went were no one had gone before; the first students enrolled in Western University’s dental school. The Dentistry Class of 1970 left a big mark, launching a legacy of exceptional dental education, research and care.
