Connections and celebrations the highlight of Homecoming Weekend
Thought-provoking, inspiring, and of course celebratory, best describe Homecoming 2018. Hundreds of alumni travelled back to the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry to participate in the morning lectures, enjoy a delicious lunch, and dance the night away at the Dean’s Gala.
What a difference a decade makes
The Dental Outreach Community Service is the pride of Schulich Dentistry. In operation for 10 years, the more than 160 volunteers and 650 students have provided free dental care to thousands of people.
The storyteller
Award-winning author and paediatrician, Dr. Alex Lyttle, MD’11, uses writing as a form of catharsis. “It helps to lift me, and it’s never something I have to motivate myself to do,” he said.
Small but mighty
Shamara Baidoobonso, PhD’13, is grateful for her graduate training in Epidemiology. It offered a strong culture that fostered co-learning, camaraderie between students, extensive mentorship and huge opportunity.
The Cheeky Scientist
Alumna Cathy Sorbara, PhD, serves as the COO for The Cheeky Scientist Association a major force in offering job training, career support and advice for PhD graduates who are launching their careers.
STOP Narcotics protocol cuts opioid prescribing in half
