In Memoriam: Dr. Bessie Borwein

It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of Professor Emeritus Dr. Bessie Borwein. Dr. Borwein was a distinguished member of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology and a respected leader within Western University and the broader community. After completing her PhD in 1973 and subsequent postdoctoral training, she joined Western as an instructor and lecturer. She was appointed Associate Professor in 1984 and, in 1987, became Associate Dean of Research for the Faculty of Medicine.
