Deciphering the Complexities of PCOS: Unraveling Hormonal Pathways and Reproductive Dysfunction - Team 38
Media Type: Presentation
Summary
Our PULSE assignment delves into the topic of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), exploring not only its pathogenesis but also its sociological impact and how little is known about the disease. Presented through a video recording with a PowerPoint slide as its medium, our goal was to provide a clear understanding for future students in the Pathology 3500 course. We chose this topic and format as we believed it was an important topic worth providing more information on through an engaging medium that would allow viewers to easily follow our thought process and the information pertaining to this assignment. As PCOS is a very prevalent disease affecting reproductive, metabolic and mental health in women, we wanted to explore and present more information about this syndrome to the students of Pathology 3500 and the future healthcare providers of our generation. We gathered said information through a variety of different sources such as research articles, scientific websites and pathology textbooks. We also implemented the use of AI, mainly ChatGpt, in order to help structure a coherent presentation that is clear and easy to understand by our target audience while ensuring that we present information that is essential to understanding what PCOS is, its impact and need for future research. Finally, we came together to build a visually appealing PowerPoint presentation before recording our respective sections in a manner that is engaging to the viewer. In sum, this assignment can serve as a gateway for future Pathology 3500 students to deepen their knowledge of the female reproductive system in an appealing and informative manner.
