The intensity of the pentachrome staining the cytoplasm red seemed to obscure the visibility of the nuclei and columnar cells. The stroma surrounding the bronchioles in blue/green shown in the pentachrome-stained slide is clearly visualized. However, there is difficulty in determining the number of cells present. In cases of chronic bronchitis, the use of the pentachrome stain kit might allow for better visualization of fibrosis and collagen.

Please note: mouse tissue does not have cartilaginous rings in the lungs and do not have bronchi.
