New Lithotripter for Western Ontario

The Western Ontario Lithotripsy Program will be soon installing a new Storz SLX-F2 Shock Wave Lithotripsy machine. The decommissioning of the old unit and installation of the new machine will take approximately 1 month. As a result all shock wave lithotripsy services in London will be suspended from October 1- 31, 2017 inclusive.  This new lithotripter will have enhanced fluoroscopic imaging capabilities which aid in stone targeting . This machine will not have ultrasound targeting abilities.

Should patients require Shock Wave Lithotripsy services during this time it is recommended that referring physicians make alternate arrangements with the Shock Wave Lithotripsy unit in Toronto. We will continue to accept referrals, however, for patients who are able to wait until the new machine is installed and up and running.
