Windsor Site - Early Intervention

Windsor’s Early Intervention Program (EIP) started in 2009. The clinic is located on-site at CMHA. Based on the EPIC and PEPP models, this program offers individualized psychiatric care, case management, family support, and other resources available to patients through CMHA, a partner in the program.

The multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, RNs, RPNs, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. Psychiatrists are typically on site and seeing patients for a half-day clinic each week.
The three year program is designed to promote insight into client’s illness, regular medical monitoring, relapse prevention plans, goal setting, medication education, and regular follow with staff. Clients are eligible if they are aged 14 – 35 years old and have been exhibiting symptoms of psychosis and their symptoms have been treated for 6 months or less. This is an evidenced-based program which has been shown to improve outcomes in this population. Residents are integrated with the treatment team and can follow their own patients.
