Inpatient Mental Health Care Program
The Inpatient Mental Health Care Program serves children and adolescents under age 18. There is an acute care program designed to serve short term inpatient admissions for crisis stabilization, as well as a tertiary care program designed for patients requiring longer care in hospital.
The program serves children and adolescents who present with mental health difficulties such as: mood disorders, suicidal behaviour, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, situational crises, and neurodevelopmental disorders. The inpatient mental health care program offers assessment, stabilization, treatment and coordination with community resources for follow-up treatment planning. Inpatient Services are delivered by an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, child and youth counselors, medical consultants, teachers, and office support staff.
