After almost 28 years of dedicated service, Dr. Meg McLachlin has retired from the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Dr. McLachlin was the Program Head of Pathology and a respected expert in cytopathology and gynecological pathology. She was one of the department’s key leaders over the past two decades and an important source of support for all other departmental leaders, staff and trainees. Dr. McLachlin also played leadership roles in the OMA Section on Laboratory Medicine and the Canadian Society of Cytology, and with Cancer Care Ontario and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer in the area of cervical screening policy. Dr. McLachlin received several awards, most recently the Mary Ellen Kirk Pathology Resident Teaching Award and the Leadership in Patient Safety and Quality Assurance award from the Canadian Association of Pathologists. We wish Meg and her family all the very best in retirement.
