We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jina Kum has been appointed as a full-time, limited term, teaching intensive faculty member in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine effective January 9, 2023. Dr. Kum completed her PhD in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University in 2021, where she investigated how diabetes affects the bone marrow. After completing her PhD, Dr. Kum worked at the Ontario Ministry of Health and the Treasury Board Secretariat to advance various policy files. In her role as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Kum will be primarily responsible for teaching and coordination in the undergraduate and graduate Pathology courses, performing curriculum studies and reform, and participating in institutional reviews of departmental educational programs. Scholarly activities in this role may include presentations, publications and funding applications on teaching, pedagogy and/or learning; course and curriculum development and evaluation; and other educational leadership.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Kum to this new role and look forward to working with her as a colleague and student mentor.
