Dear faculty and staff,

On April 12, the fall/winter term for the academic year will come to an end for some of Schulich Medicine & Dentistry’s programs. Many students will be moving into their final examinations and the Classes of 2021 will have eyes on their graduation in June.

And so, as this most unusual academic year comes to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you. It is worth reminding ourselves that among the Western University community, Schulich Medicine & Dentistry was unique in our responsibilities and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with our commitment to students, we were required to carry on with vital health research and provide front-line care.

Thank you for your incredible dedication, resilience and positive spirit.

Thank you for rising to the challenge of delivering exceptional education that required extraordinary investment of time, flexibility and ingenuity.

Thank you to the researchers who led the way in a continual pursuit of discovery and innovation.

Thank you to our front-line physicians and dentists for your professionalism in rising to the call to care for patients.

Thank you to our staff who are often working behind the scenes. Your commitment is essential to all that happens at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry.

Sincerely,
