Welcome Dr. Fatimah AlMutawa
Dr. Fatimah AlMutawa, MBBS, FRCPC, joined the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in October 2020 as a Medical Microbiologist. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery degree from King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. She completed her residency training in Medical Microbiology at McMaster University in 2017. She further completed a clinical fellowship in Infection Prevention and Control at McMaster University. Dr. AlMutawa’s clinical interests include molecular diagnostics and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Her goal is to complete a Master’s degree in Education and be an active participant in the medical education initiatives of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She has presented posters both nationally and internationally and published several peer-reviewed articles.
