Welcome Parisa Shooshtari

We are excited to announce the arrival of Dr. Parisa Shooshtari who joined our department on July 1, 2019.

Professor Shooshtari received her PhD from the University of British Columbia in 2012 and went on to complete postdoctoral training at the University de Montreal, Yale University and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Most recently, Professor Shooshtari served as a Research Associate with the Center for Computational Genomics, and the Genetics & Genome Biology Program at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. She joins us as an Assistant Professor of Computational Biology (Bioinformatics) and was recently awarded an Ontario Institute of Cancer Research New Investigator Award. In addition to her appointment with our department, Professor Shooshtari holds Scientist appointments with the Children’s Health Research Institute, the Lawson Health Research Institute and the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research.

Her research program focuses on developing computational and statistical methods to understand cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying complex diseases. Her office and laboratory space is located within the Victoria Research Laboratories at the Victoria campus of the London Health Sciences Centre.
