Welcome Dr. Fred Dick

We are excited to announce that effective July 1, 2019, Dr. Fred Dick will be officially joining our department.

Dr. Dick received his PhD from Dartmouth Medical School and went on to complete postdoctoral training at Harvard with the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. He joined Western in 2003 as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Biochemistry and holds scientific appointments with the Children’s Health Research Institute and the Cancer Research Labs at the London Regional Cancer Program. Dr. Dick was granted the rank of Professor in 2014 and became a Distinguished Scientist with the London Regional Cancer program in 2015.

Dr. Dick’s research program focuses on understanding the regulation of the mammalian cell division cycle, with implications for cancer pathogenesis, treatment choice and patient outcomes. His research is highly impactful, and his more than 70 research papers represent a significant contribution to his field. Dr. Dick is an advocate for student mentorship, and currently has six graduate and postdoctoral trainees engaged in his research program.
