I would like to thank Douglas Jones, PhD, for his tremendous contributions as Vice Dean, Basic Sciences. During his five and a half years in this position, Dr. Jones played a critical leadership role as a member of the School’s Senior Leadership Council. He managed and stewarded operational, academic and research activities for the basic science departments, as well as contributed to key decisions supporting the strategic direction of the School.

Amongst his many accomplishments, Dr. Jones oversaw the successful accreditation of many of the School’s undergraduate and graduate basic science programs and the most recent IQAP reviews in 2018. He also contributed to the growth and advancement of the London Health Research Day event, and was instrumental in advancing the School’s We Act initiative and supporting the progress related to the follow-up We Speak survey.

Additionally, Dr. Jones’ commitment to internationalization was realized through a number of joint initiatives and programs with the School’s partners in China.

I want to thank Dr. Jones for his dedication to the Schulich School of Medicine &Dentistry. We look forward to continuing to work with him, and learning about his many research contributions in the coming years.
