The first LPA Award of Excellence was given to Paula Miller (right). She has been integral to the administration and to maintaining the high standards of the London Health Sciences Centre Autopsy Service and Regional Forensic Pathology Unit. Paula deals effectively with the meticulous preparation of autopsy reports and the forensic pathology reports as well. The second LPA Award of Excellence was given to Eva Smith (left) for the many years of service she has provided in the department. Eva does a masterful job handling our scheduling requests, needs, demands and idiosyncrasies. Eva also played important roles with some of our infrastructure improvements, such as the multiheader microscope and our computer upgrades, all of which she handled in a focused and efficient manner. Dr. Nikhil Sangle (left) was the 2018 recipient of the Dr. M.E. Kirk Teaching Award. This annual teaching award is presented by the residents in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine to the pathologist who best exemplifies the qualities of dedication, enthusiasm, excellence, availability, approachability, knowledge, and mentorship with respect to resident education.
