Dr. Amrit Kirpalani is a pediatric nephrologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at Western University. He completed his B.Sc. in Pharmacology at McGill University, followed by medical school and paediatrics residency at Western University, and a fellowship in Paediatric Nephrology at The Hospital for Sick Children. He also holds a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Kirpalani has a broad clinical practice in pediatric nephrology, with particular interests in complement-mediated kidney diseases, continuous renal replacement therapy, and apheresis.
His scholarly work focuses on medical education and the healthcare workforce, with an emphasis on technology-enhanced learning and equity-informed approaches. He develops open-access digital tools for nephrology education used by learners worldwide, and his work integrates education and analytics to support both learner development and improvements in clinical care.
