Travel Reimbursement Fund
Residents and Clinical Fellows benefit from attending conferences and meetings that support their academic development and career goals. While programs provide some funding, these resources may not fully cover the necessary travel-related costs for residents and fellows to pursue broader professional, non–medical expert roles.
Developed by the Postgraduate Medical Education office, the Travel Reimbursement Fund helps supplement these expenses and supports participation in academic activities.
Application Deadline: April 30 annually
Award Criteria
- Funding is shared among applicants
- Reimbursement is partial
- Up to $23,000 total distributed annually
Eligibility
- Must be a current resident/fellow at the application deadline
- Conference must have occurred within 12 months of the deadline
- Eligible once per academic year
What is Considered
- Must involve travel for the pupose of contributing to a meeting, such as:
- Poster presentations
- Podium/oral presentations
- Plenary speaking roles

- Registration fees
- Accommodation expenses
- Travel (flight/train)
- Parking & cab fare
- Abstract submission & poster printing costs
Not Eligible
- Expenses already reimbursed by your program
- Electives or specialty-specific courses
- Meals
- Cover Page that includes:
- Objectives of attending
- Type of presentation
- Dates & location
- Benefits to training/career
- Budget breakdown
- Proof of Payment - must display payment method. e.g. "paid with card ending in XXXX"
- Registration receipt + screenshot of conference webpage showing dates and location of conference
- Accommodation receipt that includes guest name(s)
- Travel receipt with ticket number visible
- Supporting Documents
- Abstract or presentation + proof of acceptance
- Conference website link
- Certificate of attendance OR name badge photo
- Program Director Recommendation Form
