Class of Meds '49 Award

Teaching is a core responsibility of residents, yet it is often under-recognized. Residents play a vital role in shaping the learning experience of medical students through clinical teaching.

To recognize outstanding contributions, the Class of Meds ’49 established annual awards to celebrate excellence in resident teaching and to highlight the important role residents play in medical education.

Application Deadline: May 25 annually

Award Criteria

Junior residents (PGY1 & PGY2) and Senior Residents (PGY3 and above) can be nominated by a clinical clerk.

Two $600 awards are presented annually:

  • Junior Resident Award
  • Senior Resident Award

Each award recognizes a resident who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to teaching and student support.

Clinical clerks may submit nominations at the end of each rotation. You may nominate:

  • One Junior Resident
  • One Senior Resident

Recipients are selected based on the highest aggregate nomination scores
