Dr. John D. Brown Memorial Award
Established in 2012 by the family of the late Dr. John Brown, this award recognizes a postgraduate trainee in any area of medicine who displays excellence in patient-centered care and reflects the values and practices of Dr. John Brown, who always put his patients first. At $5,300, this award represents a substantial commitment to promoting excellence among our residents in the foundational area of patient care.

Award Criteria
- $5,300 award
Residents and Clinical Fellows.
Nominees should:
- Demonstrate excellence in patient-centred care
- Reflect the values and practices of Dr. John Brown
- Show a consistent commitment to putting patients first
Required materials:
- Letter of support from the Program Director (required)
- Up to 5 additional letters of support, can be provided by:
- Teaching faculty
- Residents, fellows, or medical students
- Other healthcare professionals
- Patients or their families
