About Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME)

The Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) office at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is dedicated to delivering an exceptional training experience for every resident and fellow. We support both trainees and faculty in creating high-quality, innovative educational environments that prepare physicians for the future of healthcare.

Programs & Pathways

Schulich offers 50+ residency training programs leading to certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Programs range from 2 to 7 years, with opportunities to pursue advanced fellowship training after residency.

Learning Environments

Our residents train across a diverse and collaborative network, including:

  • Major academic centres such as London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London
  • Multiple affiliated teaching sites across the region
  • A wide range of community and rural locations throughout northern and southern Ontario
Many programs also participate in the Distributed Education Network (DEN), expanding hands-on learning opportunities in real-world settings.
