PARO Resident Teaching Award

The PARO Trust Fund annually awards one resident from each Ontario medical school who excels in clinical teaching, with winners honoured at the PARO Clinical Teaching Awards Banquet in Toronto.

 

 Application Deadline: mid-January annually

Award Criteria

  • $1,000 award
  • Senior residents currently in active training
⇒ Not Eligible: Residents who have completed training, Clinical Fellows, and Research Fellows
  • Nominations may be submitted by Program Directors, residents, and clinical clerks.

Nominees must:

  • Provide outstanding clinical teaching experiences to junior housestaff and clinical clerks
  • Demonstrate excellence in clinical teaching

Required documentation: 

  • Letter of support from the Program Director (required)
  • Up to 5 additional letters of support, can be provided by:
    • Teaching faculty
    • Residents, fellows, or medical students
    • Other healthcare professionals
    • Patients or their families
  • Chair: Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education
  • Program Director Representative(s)
  • Postgraduate Medical Education Representative
  • PARO Resident Representative
  • Undergraduate Medical Education Representative
