Dr. Mindy Schwartz, MD
“The Real Dr. Guillotin and Adventures from the Medicine of History”

Dr. Mindy Schwartz, the 2022 Visiting Speaker, connects medical history and clinical practice in a well-received lecture to a hybrid audience (in-person and Zoom attendees). The evening was an unqualified success!

Dr. Mindy Schwartz is a faculty member in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center since 1987. She enjoys a busy academic practice which involves both outpatient and inpatient clinical practice.  She has held a variety of administrative positions in the Department of Medicine and the Pritzker School of Medicine including Associate Program Director for the Department of Medicine, Academic Medical Student Advisor of the Coggeshall Society and Chair of the Internship Selection Committee for the Department of Medicine from 1994-2004. She has also served as the chapter advisor for the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Schwartz has been an award-winning teacher and was elected in 2010 as a Master of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators and has won a variety of teaching and clinical awards.  A former nutrition educator, she has turned her academic interest for the last 15 years to learning and teaching the history of medicine.
