Dr.  Jim Weese
Dr. Weese is currently the Vice Provost International at Western University, and he has held several high level leadership positions both at Western, and other notable universities in Canada (please see his bio attached to the email recently circulated).

About the talk:

"Some leaders make it look easy. Others who have every opportunity to lead effectively make it appear impossible. One thing is certain with leadership: People notice it when it is absent."

As you are already aware, one of the core tenets of the Global Health Systems MMASc program is the successful integration of core courses in communication, leadership and management, alongside spoke specific courses centered around health. Many of you will graduate from this program and go on to take on various types of positions in leadership/ management.  Effective leadership is a key component to the success of each and every organization, and we encourage you to join us to hear Dr. Weese speak on what it takes to be an effective leader from his latest book: The 5C Leader: Exceptional Leadership Practices for Extraordinary Times.
