The Schulich Medicine - Windsor Campus extended a warm welcome to the Class of 2025 in an on-campus meet and greet event on September 9.

Incoming students had the chance to connect with their classmates and faculty, and hear from School leaders Drs. John Yoo and Larry Jacobs.

The incoming class of nurse practitioners from the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Nursing were also in attendance at the event, as was the Medicine Class of 2024, enjoying their first official in-person social on campus.johnyoo

Addressing the Year 1 students, Dr. Yoo emphasized their role as future health care leaders.

“Entering medicine now is an opportunity like never before. You have the chance to make an impact and the ability and responsibility to shape health care for the better and to shape people’s thinking about medicine and our profession for all the generations to come,” he said, adding that he, along with all Schulich Medicine & Dentistry faculty, are eager to support them on their journey to becoming physicians.

Dr. Shannon Venance, the newly appointed Vice-Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education, was also in attendance, marking her first visit to the Windsor Campus.

“I can say that I am impressed with the learners, faculty and staff I have already met,” she shared. “Many of our alumni have remained in the Windsor-Essex area to provide health care to the community. I am excited to continue to develop the excellent program that already exists here in Windsor.”
