Toni Janik, Library Coordinator at Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus, recently received the Librarian of the Year Award though the Michigan Health Science Association. Janik supports many Schulich Medicine - Windsor Campus learners in the hospital.
Thien Phuoc Dang, Medicine Class of 2019, and Michael-Anthony Ferrato, Medicine Class of 2019, were selected to participate in a DaVinci robot workshop at Windsor Regional Hospital on November 26. This was a very novel initiative, which invited 15 high school students to Windsor Regional Hospital to work on the state-of-the-art DaVinci surgical machine. The Canadian distributor flew a practice robot to Windsor, as well as training staff and some additional equipment. Dang and Ferrato were involved in the training and helped run one part of the workshop.
Sabrina Botsford, Medicine Class of 2017, received the inaugural Stigma Enigma Sophie Smith Scholarship.
