Schulich Medicine – Windsor Program hosts annual general meeting

Medical students from across the country will be experiencing busier than normal days as they take part in the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Hosted by the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and taking place at the Windsor campus from September 18 - 20, students will be gathering together and discussing important issues pertaining to medical students.

Students will also take part in presenting proposals on issues including student politics, wellness, indigenous health, and national pharmacare, and once debated, students will vote to determine if they will become the stance of the CFMS.

Throughout the three days, students participate in small working groups to discuss a number of topics that may be moved by the CFMS toward establishing official policy. Elections will be held, and presentations from a number of key opinion makers in medicine will also take place.

The AGM will feature a number of special guests including Schulich Medicine & Dentistry’s Dean, Dr. Michael J. Strong, as well as, David Musyj, CEO, Windsor Regional Hospital; John Gallinger, CEO of CaRMS; Dr. Geneviève Moineau, president and CEO of the Association of Faculties of Medicine in Canada; and Dr. Cindy Forbes, president of the Canadian Medical Association.
