New virtual anatomy software creates buzz

The virtual anatomy laboratory in the Medical Science Building at the University of Windsor was recently upgraded with a 3D software program called BodyViz which converts MRI/CT data from patients into 3D images. These images can be manipulated and viewed at different clipping planes, or colour based on tissue types, and labeled and inserted as images into lectures.

The medical students are very excited about the prospect and can't wait for the project to be completed. They are particularly intrigued by the quality of the images and how much fun it is to use an Xbox controller to manipulate the images. This program is available to clinicians, residents and medical program learners who can use this program to enhance their teaching and learning experiences.
