Melissa Machado, Class of 2015

Hey everyone, the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry - Windsor Program medical students have been keeping quite busy this year. Between school and extra-curricular activities we have been caught up in quite a whirlwind, including inter-professional events with law and nursing students, high school and university student mentorship projects and hosting a symposium for university students interested in pursuing a medical career.

In November we had our colleagues in London visit us for a weekend and together we spent time at hospitals in Windsor, Leamington and the Beaumont hospital in Michigan. In the past few months, we have been partaking in numerous charity events, including hosting a talent show and participating in Trick-or-Eat during Halloween. Our classes have also raised funds for breast cancer awareness (October) and prostate cancer awareness (November).

At the Schulich Windsor Health Lecture Series students provide presentations to the community about health issues from Autism to Smoking. For more information, please visit http://www.swhls.com.

A big congratulations to the fourth years for submitting their CaRMS applications. We are excited to have them back in the Medical Education Building and hope that their interviews and matching go well.
