See the Line - international and local experts focused on sport concussion to headline Symposium

Dr. Anne McKee, one of the world's leading experts in concussion research will serve as keynote speaker at an upcoming education and community information symposium being hosted by Western University. She will be joined by Western University alumnus and member of the Hamilton Tiger Cats, Andy Fantuz along with a list of local research and clinical experts including Dr. Arthur Brown, Dr. Doug Fraser, Dr. Arjang Yadzani.

The symposium is part of an initiative called See the Line being held in on August 14 and 15. Unfolding in three parts, this two-day series will bring together concussion research and clinical experts from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Western University, the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic, London's hospitals and research institutes. Their goal is to find new ways to provide a patient-focused approach to sport concussion including health screening, risk analysis, concussion predication and prevention.

The symposium will be moderated by Dr. Michael J. Strong, Dean, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Dr. Bob Litchfield, associate professor, Department of Surgery and Medical Director, Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic. The symposium is free and will be of interest to researchers, parents, coaches and athletes. It is expected that former NHL great Eric Lindros will be returning to the city for the event.

Other events taking place as part of See the Line include a gala dinner and a golf tournament.
