Build a page using a template

Our templated pages help you build content faster and keep pages consistent and readable. Instead of starting from a blank page, you choose a template that already has the right structure and starter components.

Browse the template catalogue below

  1. Basic content page
  2. Contact
  3. Facilities & equipment
  4. Forms hub
  5. FAQ
  6. How-to
  7. Service hub
  8. Bio / profile
  9. Index (section landing page)

Rule of thumb: If your page is meant to guide people to other pages or resources, choose a hub-style template (usually Index or Service hub). If it’s meant to explain one topic, choose Basic content page.

  1. In Cascade, open the Page template folder in 2025 Schulich Training Site.
  2. Find the page template you want to use.
  3. Right-click the template and choose More → Copy.

In the Copy window

  1. New Page Name: Enter the title for your new page.
  2. New Folder: Click to select the folder in your own website where the page should be placed.
    • It may appear under Recent if you’ve opened it recently.
    • Otherwise, choose Browse, search for your site name, and select the correct folder.
  3. Click Choose, then click Copy.

Confirm it worked

Go back to your site folder—you should now see the new page there.

Open the page and click Edit. Then:

  • Replace any placeholder text with your content.
  • Keep content short and scannable (clear headings, short paragraphs, lists where helpful).
  • Use the template’s pre-added sections/components as intended:
    • Update what you need
    • Remove sections you don’t need (don’t leave empty blocks)

Some page templates include image placeholders. These placeholders usually indicate the required image size. Use those sizes to avoid stretched, blurry, or awkwardly cropped images.

Where to get images

You have a few options:

  1. Use your own high-quality images: If you already have relevant images, crop them to the size shown in the placeholder.
  2. Use Schulich’s image repository (recommended): Schulich provides a library of high-quality, Schulich-branded images—including pre-sized options. They also include recommended alt text you can copy and paste.

Upload and place your images

  • Upload images to your site’s img folder, not a navigation folder.
  • Then edit your page and replace the placeholder image with your uploaded image.

Tip: Always add meaningful alt text for images that convey information. (Decorative images can use empty alt text.)
