The Schulich Medicine Admissions Committee defines Southwestern Ontario as consisting of the area which corresponds to the Schulich Medicine Distributed Education Academies:

Grey-Bruce Academy 
Huron-Perth Academy 
Oxford Academy
Elgin-Middlesex Academy
Kent-Lambton Academy
Essex Academy

Who should apply

The SWO pathway is for applicants who completed all 4 years of high school and graduated within the counties that correspond to the Schulich Medicine Distributed Education Academies. Applicants through this pathway must submit an original high school transcript through OMSAS at the time of application. 

MCAT flexibility

Applicants who meet our SWO designation, as described above, will be granted some flexibility with minimum scores for the MCAT. Eligibility for this pathway does not guarantee the granting of MCAT flexibility nor an offer of admission. There are no fixed seats or quotas for the SWO pathway.

  • Applicants must attain a minmum of 125 in each section of the MCAT that we consider.
  • Applicants must still meet the same GPA, course load, course level and non-academic admission requirements as general applicants.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure all documentation is submitted through OMSAS by the application deadline.

Schulich Medicine reserves the right to verify application documentation.

Falsification or misrepresentation of information from any portion of the application will result in removal of the application from consideration, and may be considered in any future application to the University.
