Admission requirements
Select the option that best matches your situation to learn about requirements for admission.
The BMSc degree is a four-year undergraduate degree offered jointly by Western's Faculty of Science and Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Learners interested in studying in the BMSc Program in Year 3 will generally apply to Western via Medical Sciences or ESM on the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC).
Ontario high school students must have the following Grade 12U courses:
- Biology
- Calculus and Vectors
- Chemistry
- English
Note: Grade 12U physics is not required but encouraged, as it can be beneficial for completing a 1.0 university-level physics course before registering in Year 3 BMSc.
Application details
- Applications to medical sciences first entry (ESM) or science (ES) do not require special supplemental applications.
- Applications to the Scholar's Electives Program, Ivey Advanced Entrance Opportunity (AEO) or major scholarships require additional supplemental information.
The central Admissions Office oversees the admission process for all undergraduate programs at Western University, regardless of your status (i.e. domestic/international student). Admission is competitive and enrolment is limited, so meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
