What is the purpose of the Regional Academic Summit?
The Regional Academic Summit is an opportunity participate in Southwestern Ontario’s premier event dedicated to rural medical education, learn from experts in the field, share your experiences and connect with peers in stimulating and supportive environment. (Register here).
Who should attend the Summit?
The event is open to physicians, faculty, students and members of the community involved in physician recruitment or building local capacity. (Register here)
What are the dates and location of the Regional Academic Summit?
The Summit will take place on September 17-18, 2026 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre, Chatham.
How can I register for the Summit?
Registration can be completed online, through the event website. Early registration is recommended to secure a spot. Please visit our registration page to complete your registration.
What is the registration fee?
- General Registration - $250.00 plus HST
- $199.99 before April 1, 2026
- Residents and Retirees - $150.00 plus HST
- $100.00 before April 1, 2026
- Students Registration - $50.00 plus HST
What is included in the registration fee?
The registration fee covers access to all Summit sessions, meals and snacks on the days in attendance, as outlined in the agenda.
Is there a deadline for registration
- Deadline for registrations September 1, 2026
What is the agenda for the Summit?
The Summit starts on Thursday afternoon, with an engaging guest speaker and a delicious dinner. Friday will feature a full day of conference-style sessions covering clinical and educational topics. The full agenda can be found here.
Will I receive Continuing Medical Education Credits?
Credits will be announced if applicable.

John D. Bradley Convention Centre, 565 Richmond St., Chatham, ON
How can I book accommodations for the event?

Is there parking available at the Summit venue?
Yes, ample parking is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Will meals be provided?
Yes, meals, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided during the event, as outlined in the agenda.
Will there be networking opportunities?
Yes, the Regional Academic Summit will provide ample opportunities for networking and sharing of ideas.
Can I request special accommodations for disabilities?

What if I have dietary restrictions?
There is a section on the registration form that covers dietary restrictions. Make sure you fill out that part, and we will inform the venue. (Register here)
Will session materials be available after the event?
No, the summit is intended to be an in-person learning event.
How can I provide feedback about the event?
Evaluation forms will be available following the Summit. Your feedback is encouraged and welcome.
