Faculty and learners honoured with education awards

Faculty and learners at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry were recently honoured with awards from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME).

Certificates of Merit Awards – recognizing faculty members who have made exceptional contributions to medical education throughout their academic careers – were received by Dr. Tamara Van Hooren, department of paediatrics; Dr. Laura Foxcroft, assistant dean, faculty wellbeing; and, Dr. James Ross department of psychiatry.

Dr. Jonathon Keow, department of anatomical pathology and Hailey Guertin, undergraduate medical education student, received CAME Rising Star Certificates of Excellence. The Rising Star awards recognize learners who have demonstrated a commitment and passion for medical education through research, curriculum and workshop development, leadership or advocacy.

“Schulich Medicine & Dentistry has a long history of promoting excellence in medical education,’ said Dr. Michael Sanatani, CAME representative. “We are proud of our faculty and trainees who exemplify the highest standards in educational practice and scholarship.”

CAME is an organization of medical educators for the promotion, advancement and recognition of excellence in medical education.
